Why Replace the Gap?

Missing teeth do more than spoil a smile. They change speech, limit chewing, and accelerate bone loss that can cause the lower face to collapse. With nearly half of U.S. adults missing at least one tooth, an affordable, reliable replacement is essential for both health and confidence.

Removable Partial Dentures (RPDs)

A partial fills the space with gum-coloured acrylic and artificial teeth, clasping to neighbouring teeth with precision attachments.

  • Metal frameworks (titanium or cobalt-chromium) are slim, strong and conduct temperature naturally—yet some patients dislike visible clasps or metal sensitivity.
  • Metal-free polymer frameworks are lighter, inexpensive and clasp-free, blending beautifully with gums. They can, however, feel less “real” because they don’t conduct hot or cold, and may become brittle over time.

After impressions are taken and the custom appliance is fabricated, you’ll wear it continuously for a short period to fine-tune fit, then remove it nightly. Adjustments keep the fit comfortable as bone levels change with age.

The Implant-Retained Partial—A Modern Alternative

If you want greater stability and bone preservation, an implant-retained partial bridge may be ideal.

  • Titanium posts are surgically placed at each end of the gap.
  • Posts fuse to bone, halting resorption and providing rock-solid support.
  • The final bridge feels and functions like connected natural teeth—no clasps, no slipping, minimal bulk.

Healthy gums, sufficient bone and good general health are required. For some, TeethXpress® allows crowns or bridges to be attached immediately after surgery.

Traditional vs Implant
Option—Key Takeaways

Implants Restorations
Stability

Removable partials rely on clasps and may shift; implant bridges are fixed in place.

Implants Restorations
Bone Health

Implants stimulate bone, helping maintain facial structure; removable appliances do not.

Implants Restorations
Cost

Partials are budget-friendly; implants cost more up front but deliver decades of carefree function.

Implants Restorations
Maintenance

Partials come out at night for cleaning; implant bridges are brushed and flossed like real teeth.

Am I a Candidate for Implants?

Most patients with healthy gums, adequate bone and no uncontrolled systemic disease qualify. Low bone density or active periodontal problems can often be corrected first with grafting or periodontal therapy.
